Where is Zora?

When Alice Walker was in search of Zora Neale Hurston she got many clues to find where she really was. By getting all those clues from people she starts growing in her own way. She really wants to find her self and that is what she does in the end. Just like Zora Neale Hurston Alice Walker grows from her experience of her search for Zora. she learns things that she never knew about her heritage, and how things used to be back in those days. She also learns that not many people know who Zora Neale Hurston is and that hurts her in a way because she is such an important person in her culture. She also learned that lying can get you the things you are in search for. Maybe lying isn't good, but if what you are looking for is really important then it becomes something good.

Why so sad?

What would happen to Janie?

"There are years that ask questions and years that answer."  I don't think that the up coming year is going to be a good year for Janie. This would probably be the year where she asks her self many questions and they may be answered, but it all depends on her responses. She is still wondering whether it was the right thing to marry some one with out loving them so that would bring up a lot of questions for her. She may still love  Jody if she gave him time but i know that she does not love Logan. That is an awnswer that may come up to her one of her questions.

Why talk?

Now a days in our world, envy is what drives people to gossip about each other. I admit it sometimes i envy some one for what they have and I'll end up gossiping about them, but why? Envy! That thing makes you do things you wish you didn't do. At the end of the day i tell my self why did i do that? Yes i may envy them but envy is not going to give me what i want, it will probably just make things worse. I honestly don't know what part of out brains drives to gossip, i mean if you like what ever they have so much, why not just get it yourself, instead of gossiping about it?

Don't Judge Me

Society kills!

During our lives we are told that we have to look a certain way to feel accepted, but that is so wrong!  That is society. Society has these 'rules' that people should follow, you know like the perfect woman marrying the perfect man and having perfect beautiful children! but that is not true at all! Now a days people are starting to speak up, they want to wear what ever they want to wear, they don't want to be told that having pink hair is not going to get them anywhere in life, but how does society know that? No. People also want to be with who ever they want to be, for example society doesn't accept gay marriages  That is wrong, personally i think human beings have every right to be with who ever they want to be with! But society has brain washed people into believing stereotypical things. So let me tell you something; do what you want to do, be with who ever you want to be, do not let society tell what is right and what is wrong. Because society is wrong it kills peoples personalities and we don't want that, do we? 

Do Looks Really Matter?

I think every ones look can be very deceptive. You never know how a person acts or is just by they way they look. Just like this kid i know, or i have seen around. He looked like a really nice guy a very smart one at that! But that all changed the second i met him. He was no longer that cool looking kid! He was the biggest jerk i have ever met. UGHH i know! It was just like my mom and grandma told me 'Apariencias Enganan' which translates to 'Looks can fool you'. I personally think that every one cares about their appearance, but sometimes we care a little too much don't you think?. When ever it starts taking you more than 2 hours to get ready that's when we start caring a little too much.  If you do take that long, I don't blame you I do this myself but wouldn't you just like to walk outside and not care how you look? I know I would. I mean sometimes what we value in our life is small because we are so caught up with the way we look. This starts getting to our heads that eventually we would want to marry some one with a lot of money and gorgeous looks. Personally i wouldn't mind the looks but i don't need someone with money to make me happy. This may vary from person to person but this is what 'looks' can do to you. Honestly they do matter but it depends on how much they matter to you.

Assimilate.

What does it mean to Assimilate?, well dictionary says that it is " To Absorb and integrate into a wider society or culture" to me it means to fit or change yourself to something you aren't, for example (don't take it as an offence) if you are born into a white family, but your try to act Mexican. In the play A Raisin in the Sun, the main person that worries about assimilation is Beneatha, even though she is born black she acts like a white woman. This can be a strength because it shows that the character Beneatha is willing to do what ever it takes to become a doctor but then again it can also be a weakness because it shows that Beneatha doesn't like to be black and she is trying to be something that she isn't. Also in the "Notes of a Native Speak" by Eric Liu, Liu tries to act something that he isn't. He is born into a Chinese family, but after migrating to America he begins to notice how differently people act here than over there China. He starts acting like white person and he ends up calling him self a "banana" then he goes on and tells how he ended up having this nickname; but this just doesn't happen in books or stories it is also happening around us. You all know that one white kid that tries to act black or vice versa. They act differently, they also talk differently. The stereotypical thing for a white person is to be well educated but this kid, whomever he may be, doesn't act that way. Why do they do it? well i don't know, maybe they just feel like that or maybe they just want to fit it. What ever the case may be i personally don't think they should do it. Just be yourself don't act like something your not because of peer pressure. I'm born into a Mexican family, but you would not see me act like Chinese person or may be a white person because I am who I am and I am not going to pretend something I am not.

Me or Them?

What is more important, your family, or yourself?
 Well to me my family is more important, them my self because i am a person who's other peoples feelings come first rather than myself. Of course sometimes it may be other wise, but during that time others come first. My family will always be first to anything, they are my main focus. Without them i wouldn't care about anything. I wouldn't care about the world! You may think other wise, maybe your a person who only cares about themselves, but who am I to judge care about what you want to care about. I learned that caring for other people is better than just caring for yourself, what happens when you are feeling alone, but nobody cares because you didn't care about them, karma. That's why i think its important to put family before myself.  I want to have somebody by my side when ever i need them, and ill get that by putting them first.

The American dream.

Every one has an American Dream it may be something small or maybe  something big, you never know it all depends, but it's always different. Many People ask 'What's your American Dream?' and i always respond by giving them a weird look. Why do i respond that way? Well, First of All i am NOT an american! Now don't get me wrong i am legal here in America but still i was born and raised in Mexico; but then again i start to think about it and i tell my self.. you may not be an american but you can still have dream. 

 

My dream when i was little was to come to the United States. Every one always talked about it, how everything was so much better over here, how there is more freedom, how you can go with out worrying. They were all right! America is AWESOME! Well now that i live here my dream has changed. Now my dream is to graduate high school, go to college and get the title "Dr.". People may tell me that i'm never going to get there, that i'll never get that title but they i think to my self and say, Watch me. That's my American Dream.

The twin That matters

Hello I am new at this Blogspot thingy but anywho, my First name is Martha my middle name is Michell. I perfer to go by Michell because i have a twin with the same first name as i do. Yeah weird i know! Not many twins have that. Born and raised in Mexico i am a little diffrent than anybody else. I have other beliefs and im very supersticious! :o. I moved to the U.S when i was around 8 years old and now i am currently living here! I remeber the first time i ever came to the U.S it was a new begginging for me everything was different.

Several years later i am now getting used to the fact that everything is different. I discovered new things such as color guard, i made new friends, and i started listening to One Direction! Yup i love One Direction they are Amazing. Also my Family and Friends come first. That's about everything you need to know and yes i am the twin that matters! :)
